Media patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC
In order to popularize the person of the outstanding Polish composer – Dariusz Przybylski, I. J. Paderewski Music School of first and 2nd degree in Konin organizes a competition of knowledge about the life and work of this artist. The aim of the competition is to promote knowledge about this Polish composer, to arouse interest in performing and listening to contemporary music, and to confront the achievements and knowledge of students from various music schools in Poland.
The competition will take place on the 11th of March, 2024 in Konin and is addressed to students of primary and secondary music schools.
During the competition, a lecture will be given by Dariusz Przybylski, organist and composer, graduate of the Konin music school, who will turn 40 this year. The artist has long specialized in creating new orchestral music, composing operas, chamber and vocal works. The event will also be honored by a concert of music by young Polish composers, participants of the Music of Our Times programme.
The competition of knowledge about the life and work of Polish composers has been held since 2013. Previous editions concerned composers: Witold Lutosławski, Andrzej Panufnik, Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, Wojciech Kilar, Krzysztof Penderecki, Tadeusz Baird, Grażyna Bacewicz, Kazimierz Serocki and Witold Szalonek.
The competition is organized in cooperation with Polish Music Edition, and under the patronage of ALENUTY.PL
