Kotnowska & Bester in the Great Hall of the Royal Castle in Warsaw

Flautist Jadwiga Kotnowska and accordionist–composer Jarosław Bester will perform as a duo in the Great Hall of the Royal Castle in Warsaw on 16 January 2026 at 7:00 p.m. Their recital for flute and accordion will present new arrangements of classical works, tango, jazz compositions, and contemporary music for this original instrumental combination.

Jadwiga Kotnowska, an internationally renowned flute soloist, combines elements of classical music with jazz and avant-garde influences, performing with her characteristic temperament. Jarosław Bester—known for his distinctive sonic explorations and collaborations with the New York avant-garde scene—explores the expressive capabilities of the accordion as a performer, composer, and arranger.

The duo of acclaimed artists will present works by Béla Bartók, Astor Piazzolla, Krzysztof Komeda, Krzysztof Herdzin, John Zorn, as well as original compositions by Jarosław Bester. The recital by Kotnowska and Bester will be a unique blend of diverse repertoire and stylistic contrasts.
