Kwartesencja – 11th edition of the Festival

Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw will host 11th edition of the Kwartesencja Festival (November 11-12, 2015) organized by Royal String Quartet. The programme includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Gregorio Allegri, Dmitri Shostakovich, Arvo Pärt, Alvin Lucier, and premiere performence of Marcin Stańczyk’s composition Powidoki. 

By organising their own festival the members of the ensemble want to share their passion for chamber music with the audience. The idea of the festival was born out of desire to create in Warsaw a unique artistic event that has never happened before. Its main goal is to bring chamber music closer to the audience and create an opportunity for people of different circles to exchange their impressions, to discuss, and to spend a nice evening with good music.
