Leopoldinum Orchestra, Ferrández & Soltani at NFM

Information about the event | Wrocław | 26 September 2025

The guiding theme of the new season of the NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra is “Better Together.” Following this motto, the ensemble led by Alexander Sitkovetsky has invited many distinguished guests to collaborate. The concert programs will consist of works requiring the engagement of more than one soloist. The first Leopoldinum concert of the season, on September 26, 2025, at 7:00 PM, will be graced by the performance of two phenomenal cellists: Pablo Ferrández, associated with Sony, and Kian Soltani, who records for Deutsche Grammophon. Among the pieces performed by the artists will be a composition by the latter, as well as works by Antonio Vivaldi, Mieczysław Karłowicz, Alfredo Piatti, and Giovanni Sollima.

Music history offers many examples of virtuosos who liked to write works specifically for their own instrument. The case is no different with Kian Soltani. The NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra’s concert will open with his Prelude for two cellos and strings.

After this introduction, the audience will embark on a journey through time. The artists will perform the rarely played G minor Concerto by Antonio Vivaldi, Alfredo Piatti’s Serenade for two cellos and strings, Giovanni Sollima’s Violoncelles, vibrez!, Frei Waley-Cohen’s Talisman, and the concert will conclude with the famous Serenade by Mieczysław Karłowicz.
