As part of the 8th ART Mintaka Christmas Festival, on 12 December 2025 at the District Museum (MOB) in Bydgoszcz, the new-music ensemble Ludzie z Vełny will present a new album featuring graphic scores: Ludzie z Vełny and Śmierć Poety (The Death of the Poet).
The compositions were commissioned especially for this occasion from five composers associated with various academic centres across Poland: Marta Śniady, Aleksander Nowak, Artur Zagajewski, Aleksander Kościów, and Rafał Gorzycki – a member of Ludzie z Vełny.
The media and conceptual approaches used in the works include free sonic structures with a poem in the background (Rafał Gorzycki, Śmierć Poety), a verbal narrative with suggested accompaniment (Aleksander Nowak, Szedłem), minimalist graphic and textual forms (Aleksander Kościów, Horizomeny and Słowidoki), a film still accompanied by articulation instructions (Artur Zagajewski, Finstre, schwarze Riesenfalter töteten der Sonne Glanz), and a glass model representing the human brain (Marta Śniady, Brain Activity).
