Maciej Małecki's Jubilee Concert and World Premiere

On March 29th at 7:00 PM, a Jubilee Concert celebrating Maciej Małecki's 85th birthday will take place at the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of the Polish Radio. The highlight of the concert will be the world premiere of Scherzo for Orchestra, which Małecki dedicated to Michał Klauza and the Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw.

"Michał Klauza has conducted a number of my symphonic works, and his interpretations have always been close to my understanding and feeling of music," the composer emphasizes. "I have been connected to the Orchestra for over half a century, when this ensemble was still known as the Polish Radio Orchestra under the direction of Stefan Rachoń, and I played with them as a pianist. Later, the Orchestra changed its name and, under the guidance of several conductors, performed over 15 of my works, always with my full approval."

The Orchestra, conducted by Michał Klauza, will also perform the symphonic poem The Wild Dove, the Forest, and the Maiden and Polish Easter Hymns by Maciej Małecki, as well as Beethoven's Symphony No. 1 – the favourite piece of the composer.
