As part of the 67th "Warsaw Autumn" and the "Meetings with Composers" series, on September 21, 2024, at 5:00 PM, musicologist Michał Mendyk and composer Krzysztof Knittel will discuss their work on a book from the "People of the World of Music" series published by Polish Music Publishing House (PWM). The event will take place at the Polish Composers' Union (ZKP) headquarters in Warsaw, Rynek Starego Miasta 27. In addition, Krzysztof Knittel will perform live electronic improvisations.
“The Boundaries of Nothing. Conversations between Krzysztof Knittel and Michał Mendyk” is the fourth publication in the recently revived "People of the World of Music" series. The interview presents the portrait of a bold artist, unafraid of challenges, and, most importantly, continuously searching.
Do we now live in a world different from the one experienced by the creators of musical modernism and postmodernism? How will this affect music? And can music still impact the world? Michał Mendyk and Krzysztof Knittel will explore these questions, among others, in a conversation accompanying the launch of their joint book.
Organizers: Polish Music Publishing House, the Scientific Library of the Polish Composers' Union, and the Polish Music Information Center POLMIC.
