As regulars know, Hashtag Lab is a social cultural institution dedicated to contemporary music. It is located in a recently renovated modernist villa in Stara Ochota. For years, its owner, Antoni Moniuszko, hosted a cultural salon here, frequented by Warsaw intellectuals, including prominent 20th-century composers like Krzysztof Penderecki and Witold Lutosławski. On this Sunday afternoon, we will celebrate the reissue of the atlas, which features the villa of Antoni Moniuszko—an unusual building, unlike any other, surprisingly designed and still holding secrets. In the first edition of the atlas, it was described as "hidden behind a fence" and "decaying," but in the reissue, it is portrayed as "vibrant with musical life."
That evening, the music of the villa’s frequent visitors will be performed: 6 Folk Melodies by Witold Lutosławski, arranged by Marcin Markowicz, Three Pieces in the Old Style by Krzysztof Penderecki, and Olivia by Roxanna Panufnik for string quartet and voices.
Hashtag Lab, the Contemporary Music Space, is co-financed by the City of Warsaw.
