Multimedia Symphonic Concerts with Hologram: “Silesia – Rhythms of Industry”
In the heart of the former Królewska Huta, at the Chorzów Museum of Metallurgy, on 20 November 2025 at 7:00 p.m., music that unites industry with the beauty of art will resound. As part of the “Silesia – Rhythms of Industry” series, the Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra will perform under the baton of Adam Wesołowski, with Piotr Sałajczyk – professor at the Academy of Music in Katowice – at the piano.
The concert program is a journey through the musical landscapes of Silesia – from folk inspirations to the industrial pulse of modernity. Mazurkas by Wojciech Kilar and Karol Szymanowski will be performed – two different perspectives on the same traditional Polish dance.
The second part of the evening will feature compositions by Adam Wesołowski. Silver Concerto will transport listeners into the industrial landscape of Tarnowskie Góry. The piece, commissioned by the City of Tarnowskie Góry and the Association of Lovers of the Tarnowskie Góry Land, combines the sound of piano and string orchestra with multimedia presenting images and sounds from the Historic Silver Mine and the Black Trout Adit. Meanwhile, in the Second Industrial Symphony, the rhythm of trams gliding along the tracks and the sounds of the city intertwine with the orchestral pulse, creating a vivid portrait of contemporary Silesia – a region still throbbing with industrial energy.
The program also includes the First Industrial Symphony, composed for the 150th anniversary of the City of Chorzów. It is the first piece in history to combine the sound of a string orchestra with authentic industrial machine noises, recorded, among others, at the “Kościuszko” Steelworks. In this very place – just steps from the sources of this music – it will return in a new context, among exhibits and memories that still tell the stories of the people who shaped the city’s history.
The concert is part of the project “Multimedia Symphonic Concerts with Hologram,” co-funded under the National Recovery Plan – a program supporting the activities of cultural and creative sector entities to stimulate their development.
Free tickets are available through the website of the Museum of Metallurgy in Chorzów.
