Unique artistic workshops for children in grades 3–5 will take place on September 30, 2024, at the Palace in Miechowice (Bytom) from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In the program "Space, Symmetry, and Figures: Geometry in Music, Art, and Mathematics," young participants will have the opportunity to experience an interdisciplinary connection between mathematics, music, and visual arts, based on the works of the renowned composer and theorist Bogusław Schaeffer. The workshops are free of charge, but number of places is limited.
During the workshops, children will learn about concert hall acoustics, symmetry in musical notation, and geometric figures. Participants will also create music, improvise, and design three-dimensional models.
The workshops will be led by experienced artists and educators: Krzysztof Nowakowski (percussionist), Piotr Zaufal (bassist), and Szymon Rendchen (architect).
Their goal is not only to convey knowledge about the relationships between contemporary art and the sciences but also to foster children's creativity through active engagement in the creative process.
The partner of the event is Mazovian Voivodeship Government.
