Polish Radio Choir and Ensemble Peregrina will open the cycle "Music Salon of the Polish Radio Choir at the Villa Decius" by performing a selection of psalms by Mikołaj Gomółka on April 10, 2016 in Krakow.
The cycle is a monthly meeting of artists and audiences, and the monographic concerts which will be accompanied by commentary from composers and/or performers. During the opening concert at the Renaissance villa, the Polish Radio Choir, Agnieszka Budzińska-Bennett (Gothic harp) and Marc Lewon (Renaissance guitar and lute) under the baton of Szymon Wyrzykowski will present a selection of psalms with 16th-century music by Mikołaj Gomółka and Polish texts by Jan Kochanowski. The programme has been prepared by Agnieszka Budzińska-Bennett - pianist, harpist, vocalist, musicologist and founder of Ensemble Peregrina specialising in early music.
The "Music Salon" will also introduce audiences to contemporary works, with future guests including Krzysztof Penderecki, Paweł Mykietyn, Przemysław Zych and Aleksander Kościów.
