Chamber music of our times is an incredible journey into the multicolored worlds of the musical imagination of creators. The Polish Society for Contemporary Music invites you to concerts as part of the "Music Today" series, presenting contemporary compositions for solo instruments. At the upcoming concert on August 28, 2025, at WOK Lab (34/50 Marszałkowska Street, Warsaw), the outstanding accordionist Bartosz Kołsut will perform. Admission to the event is free.
Bartosz Kołsut is the recipient of the title "Young Musician of the Year 2014," a finalist of the "Eurovision Young Musicians" competition in Cologne, and laureate of the Ibla Grand Prize in 2015 and 2024. He has performed three times at the legendary Carnegie Hall concert hall in New York.
In Warsaw, he will perform works by composers such as György Ligeti, Staffan Mossenmark, and Paweł Janas.
In the second part of the concert, he will lead the audience into a shared, refined play: a collective improvisation based on selected aspects of the pieces just presented. Workshop? Lecture? Concert? Fun? We can add: immersive analysis, hybrid concert, experimental musical discourse... the final definition is yet to come, but it certainly won’t be boring.
The audience will also have the opportunity to sing or play any instrument (which they can bring along).
Admission to the event is free. Due to limited seating, tickets must be reserved via the form: https://forms.gle/nT7TJwNWozYMfgnj8
The concert is part of the PTMW project "Creative Warsaw" and is co-financed by the Capital City of Warsaw.
In cooperation with: the ZAiKS Authors’ Association, the Warsaw Cultural Observatory, and the Art Deco Group Music Agency.
Media patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC.
