On December 6, 2024, at 7:30 PM, the NOSPR will perform at its premises with Antony Hermus, the Principal Conductor of the Belgian National Orchestra. The program will feature works by great symphonists.
The concert will begin with the Prelude to the Opera Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg by Richard Wagner, a charming and melodic overture in the classical style. Energy-filled and contrasting works with a distinct folk influence will also be presented: Three Dances, Op. 34 by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki. These pieces are surprising and brilliant, composed with a vivid and expressive color.
The concert will conclude with Anton Bruckner's Symphony No. 6 in A Major, often referred to as his "Pastoral Symphony." The beginning of this symphony, considered the most serene of Bruckner's nine symphonies, is described as "the most beautiful musical sunrise."
Before the concert, at 6:30 PM, Andrzej Sułek will meet with the audience in the chamber hall to discuss the works to be performed that evening. Admission to the lecture is free, and participation is granted with a concert ticket or a subscription card.
