To mark the 10th anniversary of the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra’s headquarters, NOSPR will perform on October 10, 2024, at 7:00 PM under the baton of Christian Arming, the Music Director of the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège.
Cellist Zlatomir Fung, artist-in-residence at the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, will appear as the soloist. Astonishing audiences with his unrestrained virtuosity and extraordinary sensitivity, he will present Haydn's Cello Concerto in D Major - a popular and virtuoso work.
The concert will open with Beethoven's Overture in C Major, Op. 115 "Zur Namensfeier", rarely performed today and known as the "Name Day Overture," dedicated to Antoni Radziwiłł. In the second part of the concert, we will hear Panufnik’s Lullaby - a visionary work utilizing quarter tones. “A gem of talent, technique, and taste,” wrote Stefan Kisielewski about the composition. The final piece will be the captivating yet surprising Symphony No. 6 by Martinů, titled Fantaisies Symphoniques by the composer himself.
Media patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC.
