The 8th Arena Festival Film & Music will take place on the 28th and 29th of June, 2024 at Hala Urania in Olsztyn for the first time. The two days of the festival will be filled not only with film music, but also with musicals.
On the 28th of June, the musical Copernicus directed by Jakub Szydłowski will be performed - a production of the Cracow Opera telling the story of selected threads from the life of this outstanding scientist. Composer Tomasz Szymuś, choreographers Jarosław Staniek and Katarzyna Zielonka, Ałbena Grabowska (libretto), were invited to create this artistic venture whereas scenography was created by Grzegorz Policiński. The main roles will be played by Marcin Jajkiewicz, Wojciech Daniel and Anastazja Simińska.
On the 29th of June at 7:00 p.m. on the stage of Hala Urania, the Rebel Babel Film Orchestra, the Warmian-Masurian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and soloists conducted by Piotr Sułkowski will perform for the Olsztyn audience the music to the Polish Oscar candidate - the film Chłopi, composed by Łukasz L.U.C. Rostkowski.
