Office of the Marshal of the Mazovia Voivodeship announced an open call for sumbissions for the 15th edition of the Norwid Awards (categories: Literature, Music, Visual Arts, Theatre) and 12th edition of the "Life’s Work" Award.
The Norwid Awards were established in 2001 by the Mazovia Voivodeship to honour great artists associated with the region. The laureates receive a statuette, diploma and PLN 20 000, while the prize winner of the "Life’s Work" Award - PLN 25 000. The list of artists honoured with the awards include actors and directors Gustaw Holoubek, Jan Englert, and Jerzy Grzegorzewski, conductors Kazimierz Kord, Jacek Kaspszyk, and Łukasz Borowicz, visual artists Leon Tarasewicz, Mirosław Bałka, and Jacek Sempoliński, as well as writers Ernest Bryll, Henryk Bardijewski, and Janusz Drzewucki. Over the years Danuta Szaflarska, Tadeusz Konwicki, Erwin Axer, Andrzej Łapicki, Jerzy Maksymiuk and many others received the awards for their lifetime achievements.
