Cezary Duchnowski and Beniamin Bukowski will write an Opera about Warsaw, the best city in the world. The piece will commemorate the reconstruction of Warsaw after World War II. The organizer of the project is Sinfonia Varsovia, operating in cooperation with the following partners: the Grand Theater - National Opera, the ‘Warsaw Autumn’ Festival and the Museum of Warsaw. The selection of the winning works from the competition entries was made by literary and composers' juries. The opera is planned to be staged at the end of the 68th International Contemporary Music Festival ‘Warsaw Autumn’, and at the same time at the opening of the 2025/26 season at the Grand Theater - National Opera, on the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the reconstruction of Warsaw.
