The concert program "Spiritual Music" at the Opole Philharmonic on April 11, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. includes three exceptional works that combine reflection on spirituality, the mysteries of human existence, and the beauty of musical expression. The Opole Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir will perform conducted by Rafał Kłoczko.
The evening will open with Fratres – one of the most recognizable and moving works by Estonian composer Arvo Pärt.
A Polish touch in the program will be provided by Concerto-Notturno by Mikołaj Górecki – a lyrically infused piece in which the violin leads a dialogue with the string orchestra. This violin concerto blends classical form with modern musical language, and its title suggests a reflective, almost dreamlike character. The soloist will be Piotr Kosarga, a lecturer at the Poznań Academy of Music and leader of the second violin section in the Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw.
The culmination of the evening will be the monumental Requiem in D minor by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The solo parts will be performed by Joanna Sojka (soprano), Magdalena Pluta (alto), Piotr Kalina (tenor), and Szymon Kobyliński (bass).
