The Passion Concert at the Silesian Philharmonic on April 11, 2025, at 7:00 PM, conducted by Yaroslav Shemet, will feature both Baroque sacred masterpieces and contemporary compositions. The program includes contemplative and reflective works, but also those illuminated by hope and faith in the Resurrection.
Laudate Dominum by Paweł Łukaszewski is a contemporary sacred work that heralds the coming celebration of Easter. Composed for female choir and strings, it blends a modern musical language with liturgical simplicity, creating a space for spiritual elevation and prayerful joy.
The Sinfonietta No. 3 "Pages from an Unwritten Diary” by Krzysztof Penderecki, performed by the Silesian Chamber Orchestra, offers a deeply personal reflection on life and creativity. The piece showcases the diversity of styles and techniques that Penderecki employed throughout his career.
The Silesian Philharmonic Choir will also perform Stabat Mater RV 621 by Antonio Vivaldi—one of the composer’s most moving sacred works—as well as Stabat Mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi.
The soloists for the evening will be Sylwia Salamońska (soprano) and Rafał Tomkiewicz (countertenor).
Patronat medialny nad sezonem koncertowym 2024 / 2025 Filharmonii Śląskiej sprawuje Polskie Centrum Informacji Muzycznej POLMIC.
