The works of Polish composers, full of emotion and depth, reflect our history, tradition, and unique national spirit, which has found its expression in music over the centuries. These works will be performed by Jarosław and Mateusz Meisner during the upcoming concert as part of the "Polish Music Scene" cycle at the Silesian Philharmonic on November 26, 2024, at 7:00 p.m.
Trombonist Jarosław Meisner and pianist Mateusz Meisner will present rarely performed compositions for this unique duo — the entire concert will be dedicated to the works of Polish composers. Their beauty and diversity serve as a bridge between the past and the present, inspiring generations of artists and listeners alike.
The evening’s program includes compositions by Kazimierz Serocki, Szymon Laks, Zygmunt Stojowski, Józef Nowakowski, Witold Friemann, and Adam Mitscha.
Some of these works are featured on the Meisner brothers' album Euphoria (2023). In the IPV Journal (International Trombone Association magazine), reviewer Mark Hampson wrote about the album: "On this album, the Meisner brothers demonstrate absolute technical mastery of the instrument combined with refined musicality."
The concert is co-organized by the National Institute of Music and Dance as part of the "Polish Music Scene" program, funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
