Premiere of Paweł Hendrich's Album "Fractalized"

28 March 2025 sees the release of Paweł Hendrich's latest monographic album Fractalized (DUX 2136), published by DUX record label. The album contains four works created over the last eight years by artists from Poland, Austria and Switzerland, specialising in new music performance.

The pieces Phantomaticon, Just a little beat, Hordiaver and Absusurrus were recorded by the Orkiestra Muzyki Nowej conducted by Szymon Bywalec, the Basel Sinfonietta conducted by Baldur Brönnimann, as well as pianist Dorota Adamczak and flutist Łukasz Długosz. Live recordings took place during Polish contemporary music festivals, with the composer creating the electronic layer.

The title fractals perfectly capture the sense of the construction of these compositions, pointing to the limitations of the material means, contained in different scales, and at the same time to improvisation: the composer leaves it up to the performers each time to decide which fraction will prevail.

The project was co-financed by the City of Wrocław and ZAiKS. The disc includes recordings made courtesy of the National Forum of Music.
