Polish Music Publishing House, the Anaklasis record label, and the Silesian Philharmonic invite you to a concert dedicated to the music of Witold Szalonek. The event will take place on 3 December 2024 at 7:00 PM in the Silesian Philharmonic, marking the premiere of the latest sheet music publications and two albums featuring songs and instrumental compositions by the Silesian master.
Performing artists will include those who participated in the recording of the albums: the Camerata Silesia Choir of the City of Katowice, conducted by Anna Szostak. Between Szalonek's choral a cappella pieces, inspired by local folklore and sacred music, organ interludes will be performed, alongside a seven-part dodecaphonic Toccata e corale, performed by the renowned organist Daniel Strządała.
The concert accompanies the premiere of two albums with Szalonek's songs and chamber and vocal-instrumental compositions: Pieśni o Śląsku (ANA 033) and Connections (ANA 034). During the event, attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase the latest publications from Polish Music Publishing House, including the sheet music editions of Witold Szalonek’s works featured in the CORO series.
The concert is part of the 12th International Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Days "Refren", co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund within the "Music" program, implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance. The event is under the patronage of the City of Katowice, with STOART and ZAiKS as partners.
