Media patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC
59th Andrzej Markowski International Wratislavia Cantans Festival will take place on September 5-15, 2024 in Wrocław and other cities of Lower Silesia, and its topic will be "Migration".
Following artists will take part in this year's edition: Jean Rondeau, Avi Avital, Julia Lezhneva, Théotime Langlois de Swarte, Pedro Memelsdorff and Arlequin Philosophe, Václav Luks from Collegium Vocale 1704 and Collegium 1704, Ensemble Basiani, Giovanni Antonini from Il Giardino Armonico, Música Temprana, Yaroslav Shemet with the Silesian Philharmonic Choir and Symphony Orchestra, as well as the NFM ensembles: NFM Wrocław Philharmonic conducted by Christoph Eschenbach, NFM Choir, Wrocław Baroque Ensemble, NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra, NFM Boys' Choir and NFM Girls' Choir. There will be no shortage of events for the youngest, prepared together with the NFM Educational Center.
A special concert - on the occasion of the 100th birthday - will be dedicated to Andrzej Markowski, the patron of the festival, its founder and long-time director. 1944 for choir and orchestra will be heard for the first time at the NFM - a piece that Mikołaj Górecki dedicated to Andrzej Markowski on the 100th anniversary of his birth.
