Rafał Zapała passed away...

After a long and serious illness, composer Rafał Zapała passed away. He was just under 50 years old. He was not a member of the Polish Composers’ Union, but he remained an important part of our community. He was a close colleague and friend to many of us. Always creative and incredibly active, he was involved in many joint initiatives. His works were performed at numerous festivals, including the Warsaw Autumn. His untimely death is a painful loss for the entire music community. We will remember him.

The farewell ceremony will take place on Friday, July 25 at 1:00 PM at the Junikowo Municipal Cemetery in Poznań.

After the ceremony (around 2:30 PM), a musical tribute performed by friends and faculty members will be held at the I.J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań.
