Taiwanese-American violinist Richard Lin is undoubtedly one of the most recognized musicians of the young generation. During his recital at the National Forum of Music on April 24, 2025, at 7:00 PM, he will perform, among other works, compositions by Polish composers, accompanied by pianist Kenneth Broberg.
In recent years, the violin virtuoso has been the laureate of the Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition and the International Violin Competition in Indianapolis. He will perform the charming Fantaisie brillante on themes from the opera "Faust" by Charles Gounod, Op. 20, by Wieniawski during the concert in Wrocław. The program will also feature Nocturne and Tarantella Op. 28 by Karol Szymanowski, works that belong to the lighter side of the Polish composer’s output, serving as a musical pastiche of popular virtuosic pieces stylized after Gypsy and Italian music.
Equally fascinating in the concert’s repertoire will be Violin Sonata No. 1 by Gabriel Fauré, Four Souvenirs by Paul Schoenfield, and Romanza andaluza Op. 22 No. 1 by Pablo de Sarasate, a piece that is part of the collection of Spanish dances by this legendary violin virtuoso born in Pamplona.
