On June 13, 2025, the final concert of the 66th Competition took place. The jury awarded one Grand Prize and one honorable mention.
After listening to the concert presenting the works selected for the second stage, the Jury decided to award the Tadeusz Baird Grand Prize to the piece A few fragments of an old rewritten chant for viola (pseudonym: OFTAST).
An honorable mention was awarded to the piece What vermin lives beneath my skin? for solo viola (pseudonym: HEGEL5858).
Upon opening the envelopes, it was revealed that the authors of the awarded works were: Tomasz Podubiński – Grand Prize, and Nikodem Kluczyński – honorable mention.
Tomasz Podubiński – a composer and jazz guitarist born in Olsztyn. From 2019 to 2021, he studied at the Henryk Majewski Post-secondary Jazz School in Warsaw. In 2021, he began composition studies in the class of Professor Aleksander Kościów, and in 2022, jazz guitar studies in the class of Professor Marek Napiórkowski.
Nikodem Kluczyński – born on August 14, 1999, in Września. From 2006 to 2012, he studied cello at the Apolinary Szeluta State Primary Music School in Słupca. From 2012 to 2019, he continued his education as a cellist and jazz double bassist at the Mieczysław Karłowicz Secondary General Music School in Poznań. In 2019, he began undergraduate studies in jazz double bass at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, which he completed with distinction. He continued his academic education in the same field, earning a master’s degree with honors. During his studies, he was twice awarded the “Student of the Year” prize for the best student at the Academy of Music in Poznań. He was also the initiator and chair of the artistic-scientific association of jazz and popular music students in Poznań. He has frequently given lectures at academic conferences and is the author of scholarly publications.
