7th edition of the Royal Arcades of Art will be held at the Royal Castle in Warsaw in August 5-27, 2016. Over 100 artists will present their skills in the course of 8 evenings.
Each event of the festival will take place in the unusual scenery of the Kubicki Arcades, located next to the Royal Castle gardens by the banks of the Vistula river. The musical core of the project, meant as a natural reference to the tradition of concerts held at the Polish kings’ courts, is a selection of instrumental, vocal, chamber and solo concerts. The artists will perform music composed in different eras - original compositions, improvisations, transcriptions and paraphrases, including the works by Joseph Haydn, Franz Schubert, Béla Bartók (interpreted by Warsaw Camerata under the baton of Paweł Kos-Nowicki), Karol Szymanowski, Grażyna Bacewicz, Witold Lutosławski, Henryk Mikołaj Górecki (Sinfonia Viva conducted by Tomasz Radziwonowicz), as well as Jimi Hendrix and Czesław Niemen (Artur Dutkiewicz Trio & Jorgos Skolias). The festival constitutes a platform of interdisciplinary dialogue and exchange of artistic experiences and ideas.
