The first "Scontri" composition workshops, organized by the ZAiKS Authors' Association, will provide a space for young composers to experiment in an open, creative dialogue about contemporary music. The workshops will take place at the Creative Workhouse in Sopot from September 7-13, 2025. The deadline for submitting applications is June 2.
The mentors for the workshops are distinguished figures representing different creative paths. Individual sessions will be conducted by Dr. Hab. Prof. Paweł Łukaszewski and Dr. Hab. Artur Zagajewski, Prof. AM.
The workshops offer participation in debates, Q&A sessions, and guest lectures that will allow participants to view contemporary music from various perspectives. During the workshops, participants will also have the opportunity to collaborate with the Airis String Quartet, and the program will be complemented by lectures, debates, and Q&A sessions that will offer different perspectives on contemporary composition.
The workshops are intended for adult composers who are students and/or graduates of music academies, with their own creative output, open to collaboration and various musical aesthetics.
As part of the application, participants must submit three scores of their own works for any instrumental ensemble (without the use of electronic media).
Selected participants are required to compose a piece with a maximum length of 5 minutes for string quartet (without the use of electronic media) and submit it by July 31. These works will be consulted and performed during the workshops by the Airis String Quartet.
