Before the evening concert “Secrets of Chopin’s Piano” begins, a presentation of a historical piano and a seminar devoted to Chopin’s instruments will take place at 5:30 PM in the chamber hall, led by pianists Dr. Michał Bruliński and Marek Bracha. Does the authentic sound aura of pianos from the time of Beethoven and Chopin truly possess healing power?
By following the instruments of Beethoven’s and Chopin’s eras, we can uncover not only the fascinating secrets of these remarkable musical tools, but also the full uniqueness of their piano music.
That evening, we will hear two different concertos performed on the same historical piano:
- Piano Concerto No. 1 in C major, Op. 15 by Ludwig van Beethoven, and
- Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21 by Fryderyk Chopin.
The oh!Orchestra will also present:
- the Symphony in G major, Op. 11 by Joseph Kohaut, a composer connected to the Lithuanian court of Hieronim Florian Radziwiłł, and
- the Symphony No. 4 in C minor by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy.
