Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra: Jurek Dybał and Bartosz Gaudyn

From the satirical tones of Witold Szalonek, through the virtuosic trumpet of Alexander Arutiunian, to the jazz influences of George Gershwin and the hypnotic rhythms of Maurice Ravel – this will be the concert on March 28, 2025, at 7:00 PM, during which the Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra will perform under the direction of Jurek Dybał, recognized Silesian conductor, who is also regularly associated with the Vienna Philharmonic and the Vienna State Opera.

Each piece offers a unique experience, showcasing different facets of symphonic music. It will be a musical journey from New York to Silesia, full of surprises and fascinating discoveries.

The symphonic satire by the Silesian composer Witold Szalonek is a piece full of irony and humor, reflecting the complexity of human nature. The piece is both a challenge for the orchestra and a fascinating experience for listeners, who can uncover hidden meanings and allusions.

The concert will also feature George Gershwin’s An American in Paris, Maurice Ravel’s Bolero, and Alexander Arutiunian’s Trumpet Concerto in B-flat major. The interpretation of one of the most important works in the trumpet repertoire will be undertaken by Bartosz Gaudyn, the first trumpetist of the Silesian Philharmonic, who is a laureate of many prestigious awards.
