“Symphonic Worlds for Everyone” by the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra

Information about the event | Warszawa | 13 December 2025

“Symphonic Worlds for Everyone” is a project of the Jerzy Semkow Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, designed to open the space of classical music to all — regardless of place, time, or the ability to attend concerts in person. The first concert in this series will take place on 13 December 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio. The soloists — Karolina Nowotczyńska (violin) and Palina Horbach (cello) — will perform alongside Sinfonia Iuventus under the baton of Mirian Khukhunaishvili.

The three works on the programme showcase the late face of the neo-Romantic style, with its rich expressiveness. The elegiac, nostalgic colours and moods of Johannes Brahms’s Double Concerto, Op. 102, and Jean Sibelius’s Symphony No. 1 will be contrasted with the youthful enthusiasm of Erich Wolfgang Korngold’s Overture to the ballet Der Schneemann (The Snowman), composed by one of the last romantics of the 20th century.

The solo parts in the Double Concerto will be performed by outstanding virtuosos: violinist Karolina Nowotczyńska, concertmaster and director of the Elbląg Chamber Orchestra, and Palina Horbach, principal cellist of Sinfonia Iuventus.

The concert will be conducted by Mirian Khukhunaishvili, a Georgian conductor with a rapidly developing international career. He is the co-founder and director of the Tbilisi Youth Orchestra, laureate of the prestigious Ringmann–Jaross Award, first conductor of the Elbląg Chamber Orchestra, and — as of September 2025 — the music director of the Wrocław Opera.

Through online transmissions on the orchestra’s YouTube channel and on sinfoniaiuventus.pl, the symphonic concerts in this series will become accessible to a broad audience, allowing listeners to immerse themselves in the orchestral sound and experience music of the highest artistic quality.

The project is carried out with funding from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (KPO) for Culture 2025.

Funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
