Symphony Orchestra of the Silesian Philharmonic and Jean-Marc Fessard

A virtuosic and energetic concert of the Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Yaroslav Shemet on February 21, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. will take us to various musical worlds: from the romantic melodies of Brahms, through the virtuoso motifs of the Silesian composer Jarosław Mamczarski, to the legendary theme full of humor contained in the composition of Richard Strauss.

Jarosław Mamczarski's Concerto fo rclarinet and orchestra is his latest symphonic work, composed especially for virtuosos of the 21st century. The composition consists of three parts with a classic tempo arrangement, which explore various sounds and innovative performance techniques. The solo part will be performed by the French clarinetist Jean-Marc Fessard - a graduate of the Paris Conservatory, the University of Paris (musicology) and the Academy of Music in Gdańsk (PhD). Contemporary composers have often entrusted him with the premieres of their works. He is a member of the jury of the Aleksander Tansman International Competition in Łódź, Johannes Brahms International Competition in Gdańsk, Chamber Music Competition in Łódź, author of the book L'évolution de la clarinette.

Masterpieces of German music will also be presented: the symphonic poem Till EulenspiegelOp. 28 by Richard Strauss and Symphony No. 3 in F major, Op. 90 by Johannes Brahms.
