The 10th WarszeMuzik Festival

Information about the event | Warszawa | 01 August 2026

The 10th WarszeMuzik Festival is a space for an unusual encounter between music and the city, renowned artists and local communities, and history and the present. From August 1 to August 31, 2026, on Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 6.00 pm, music telling the story of pre-war, multicultural Warsaw will resonate in the courtyards of surviving tenement buildings and around the Umschlagplatz Memorial.

In these unique settings, audiences will have the opportunity to hear the Messages Quartet, Marcin Zdunik, the Tansman Trio, Dominik Strycharski, Iwo Jedynecki, the Boarte Piano Trio, Andrzej Karałow, and other Polish artists.

"For me, the most important element of programming WarszeMuzik remains listening to the place—the pre-war courtyard, which is not merely a backdrop for the concert, but tells its own musical stories. This year, I am most looking forward to the "illuminations" concert with the AUKSO orchestra, and to the SYRENA:RE program, which Dominik Strycharski and I recently released as an album", says Ania Karpowicz, the founder and curator of the festival.

Each year, the festival steps into pre-war courtyards with chamber music. This time, the artists will visit the tenement houses at 62 Złota Street, 20 Chłodna Street, and 122 Chmielna Street. They will also perform in the revitalized courtyard of the Museum of Warsaw-Praga (50/52 Targowa Street) and in the phantasmagoric courtyard at the now-lost Szeroka Street on Central Square.

To mark this anniversary edition, a number of international artists will perform: American clarinetist David Krakauer will open the festival with Osvaldo Golijov’s epic The Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind, while at the Umschlagplatz Memorial we will hear young musicians from the Barenboim-Said Akademie in Berlin—Eiby Zieleniec, Amadeusz Maksymiuk, and the Palestinian cellist Ayoub Rabah.

The concert "WarszeMuzik: Illuminations" celebrating the festival's 10th anniversary, featuring the AUKSO Orchestra conducted by Marek Moś, will take place on August 29 at the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio, and is co-organized by the Polish Radio Program 2.

In order to learn more about the history of Warsaw and experience a city slightly different from the one passed by in the daily rush, WarszeMuzik invites audiences to three historical walks through the former Northern District. These will be led by guides and educators from the Museum of Warsaw-Praga, the Jewish Historical Institute, and the Warsaw Ghetto Museum.

"We warmly invite everyone who joins the WarszeMuzik festival on their August wanderings through vacation-time Warsaw to a birthday toast with surprises. We are celebrating at Bar Studio on August 16, following the SYRENA:RE concert on Central Square", says Marek Bracha, co-founder and curator of the festival.

The festival is organized by the "oto" foundation, which was honored with the S3KTOR 2025 award. The curators are flutist Ania Karpowicz and pianist Marek Bracha, who will also perform during the festival.
