The 3rd International Festival "Receptive Listening" in Gdynia

Information about the event | Gdynia | 25 July 2026

The 24-hour international festival of contemporary music and sound art "Receptive Listening" will take place in Gdynia on July 25–26, 2026 (from 4.00 pm on Saturday to 2.00 pm on Sunday) in Babie Doły. The third edition of the Festival expands on the concepts of mindful listening and acoustic ecology.

The event combines concerts (including an all-night sleep-in concert), sound installations, performative acts, and workshops, creating a space for gathering and experiencing music in direct relation to the natural landscape. On one hand, the festival actively engages the audience in the sound art experience through participatory activities and workshops; on the other hand, it allows people to explore contemporary music in a relaxed atmosphere, accessible to everyone regardless of age or musical background.

The lineup features acclaimed artists from the contemporary music scene, including composers Andrzej Karałow, Wojciech Blecharz, Jakub Pawlak, Igor Torbicki, and Antonina Car.

A deep listening workshop will be led by music journalist Natalia Glinka-Hebel. Sound artist Agata Dyczko will invite participants to a nighttime interactive sound walk. Psychologist Magda Malinowska will host a lecture titled Do the Sounds of Nature Soothe Our Nerves? How to Support Mental Health with What’s at Our Fingertips?

This year, for the first time as part of the Festival, the Audionomia Foundation will organize mindful listening workshops for children titled Listen to Understand.

Meetings with artists will be hosted by Igor Torbicki and Natalia Glinka-Hebel.
