Summer concerts with chamber music are a natural element of the cultural life of every large city. When large institutions are "snoozing" and the listeners do not necessarily like rock or jazz, good chamber music is a great choice. This is how the idea for the Summer Chamber Festival "Music in old Wrocław" was born. It enables Wrocław residents and tourists visiting the capital of Lower Silesia to take a musical journey from the Baroque period to the present day.
The organizer - the Association of Artistic Initiatives "Bridges of Culture" wants to refresh the tradition of music salons and thus make classical music more accessible. In the evenings, in beautiful, carefully selected historical interiors of Wrocław, interesting and still little-known chamber literature will be presented at the highest artistic level - an important element of ancient musical and cultural education. Wrocław interiors, outstanding musicians, great music, diverse audience - this is an excellent promotion of the city of Wrocław during the holiday months.
This year, the concerts are taking place in the Old Refectory at the monastery of o.o. Dominicans (6/07), Edith Stein's House (20/07), in the Museum of Architecture (3/08), in the Old Parsonage in the Ossolineum in Wrocław (17/08, and in the City Museum - Town Hall (31/08). Before each concert, invited speakers will remind listeners of the extraordinary stories of all these places the invited artists include: Whoop Group, Sei Terre, Zarębski Piano Duo, Brahms Piano Duo and Ami Ensemble. The festival starts on July 6, 2024 and ends on August 31, 2024. Concerts are held at 7 p.m., admission is free for everyone. Project is financed by the Wrocław Commune and the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Government.
