The Camerata Silesia Choir of Katowice invites you to a special concert titled "Lux Aeterna", which will take place on April 12, 2025, at 4:00 PM at the Parish of the Name of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Bartholomew in Piekary Śląskie. This event will commemorate the 85th anniversary of the Katyń Massacre. Admission to the concert is free.
Alongside Camerata Silesia, conducted by Anna Szostak, recognized instrumentalists will perform: saxophonist Paweł Gusnar and organist Tomasz Orlow. Together, they will present works that reflect the concert's central theme – “Lux Aeterna” (Eternal Light). The performance will contemplate the tragic events of Katyń, while also symbolizing the light and hope that emerge through prayer, remembrance, and music, offering a sense of salvation during difficult times.
The program will feature works by Gregorio Allegri, James Whitbourn, and Edward Elgar, among others.
