The Final Concert of the 66th Tadeusz Baird Young Composers Competition

The Final Concert of the 66th Tadeusz Baird Young Composers Competition will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Concert Hall of the Fryderyk Chopin Museum (ul. Okólnik 1). The event will feature the works selected by the jury for the second stage of the competition, followed by the announcement of the verdict and the names of the winners.

Urszula Karch (viola, violin) and Artur Mycraft (cello) will perform five compositions:

  • Ptaki na rozdrożach – Four Caprices for solo violin (pseudonym ZEFIR)
  • Cztery kierunki wiatru for solo cello (pseudonym IKSD17)
  • What vermin lives beneath my skin? for solo viola (pseudonym HEGEL5858)
  • A Few Fragments of an Old Rewritten Chant for viola (pseudonym OFTAST)
  • Hiperstitial Replicant for Solo Cello (pseudonym XENOCAST)

The jury is composed of: Marcel Chyrzyński (chair), Marcin Bortnowski, Justyna Kowalska-Lasoń, Tomasz Strahl, and Ignacy Zalewski.

The concert is organized by the Polish Composers’ Union in cooperation with the Fryderyk Chopin Institute, and funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund under the “Music” program, carried out by the National Institute of Music and Dance.

The competition’s partner is ZAiKS.
