A moving choreography, extraordinary music, and a touching story about the power of true friendship – on December 14, 15, 19, 20, 21, and 22, 2024, the Stanisław Moniuszko Grand Theatre in Poznań invites families to a modern, quasi-cinematic ballet performance “The Snow Queen” with music by Przemysław Zych and choreography by Robert Bondara.
Of many fairytales by Hans Christian Andersen, The Snow Queen is the one that can be perfectly translated into the language of dance. Mirror reflections, icy spaces, and sparkling snowflakes make the characters' steps uncertain, with each searching for their own movement and rhythm. The artists will tell a story of loss and courage, of searching and giving up, of growing up and loss, and of the power of friendship.
The orchestra of the Stanisław Moniuszko Grand Theatre in Poznań will be conducted by Aleksander Gref.
The performance is co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund as part of the "Composer Commissions" program, implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
