The Center for Artistic Education invites all students of second-level music schools from across Poland to participate in the knowledge competition about contemporary Polish composers titled "The Soul of Sounds". The competition is based on the content of the book by Dr. Marietta Morawska-Büngeler, entitled The Soul of Sounds. Conversations with Polish Composers, which is available free of charge on the website of the Association of Polish Composers / Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC. The deadline for submitting applications is April 13, 2026.
The thematic scope of this edition covers the life and work of seven composers: Rafał Augustyn, Szabolcs Esztényi, Eugeniusz Knapik, Krzysztof Knittel, Andrzej Krzanowski, Hanna Kulenty, and Piotr Moss. The book can be accessed at https://duszadzwiekow.polmic.pl/.
The competition will take place on Maj 15, 2026 at the Karol Szymanowski General Music School of the First and Second Degree in Wrocław.
Applications should be submitted by completing the form by April 13, 2026.
The organizer of the competition is the Center for Artistic Education (CEA). The co-organizer is the Karol Szymanowski General Music School of the First and Second Degree in Wrocław.
In the next edition (year 2027), it is planned to expand the scope to include an additional eight creators described in the publication.
