The summer concert series "Meet the Music"
The JAX Association, together with the National Centre for Culture, invites you to the summer series "Meet with Music" – a cycle of classical music concerts that will take place from July 26 to August 17, 2025, in Sarnaki, on the border of Eastern Mazovia and Southern Podlasie. This year’s program places a strong emphasis on Polish music. All concerts are free of charge.
"We are about to experience a true musical feast – six exceptional concerts that will showcase the timelessness of classical music while also embracing other genres and styles. Alongside works from the classical canon, audiences will hear folk music, jazz, and electronic sounds. A significant part of the repertoire will feature unique pieces by Polish composers, as well as original arrangements and improvisations," says Dr. Wiktor Brzuchacz, the artistic director of the project.
Each concert will be hosted by a presenter who will introduce the works being performed, highlight the composers’ profiles, and share interesting facts about the pieces. This will help audiences deepen their understanding and appreciation of the musical layer of each performance.
An additional attraction will be the opportunity to observe the musicians' playing on a large screen.
This year’s program highlights Polish music in particular. Among the featured composers are Jan of Lublin, Stanisław Moniuszko, Mieczysław Surzyński, Emil Młynarski, Feliks Nowowiejski, and Mateusz Rzewuski. For the first time in Sarnaki, the Concert Suite for Bazuna and Organ will be performed – a piece based on musical signals and fanfares from around the world, composed by organist and composer Gedymin Grubba together with Paweł Gruba, the performer of the world’s first concert bazuna (a fusion of the traditional Polish bazuna and a Baroque trumpet).
At the final concert, the audience will even become co-creators of the music: Maciej Afanasjew (electric violin) and Paweł Głowiński (organ) will perform improvisations based on themes suggested by the listeners.
This public project is co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage as part of the National Centre for Culture’s program Culture – Interventions. 2025 Edition. The project is also supported by private donors and local businesses, including Aminex and the transport company Kozłowski i Synowie.
Project partners include Gospoda u Olka, the Sarnaki Forest District, and the Parish of St. Stanislaus the Bishop and Martyr in Sarnaki.
