The Citizens’ Committee for the Remembrance of Bogusław Schaeffer and the District XVIII Nowa Huta Council cordially invite you to the unveiling ceremony of a commemorative plaque dedicated to Bogusław Schaeffer. The event will take place on June 30, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Block No. 4, Kolorowe Estate, in Cracow–Nowa Huta.
Bogusław Schaeffer – an outstanding artist, composer, musicologist, music writer, playwright, and visual artist, professor at the Academy of Music in Cracow and the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Honorary Member of the Polish Composers' Union, was born in Lviv (June 6, 1929). He lived and created in this house between 1959 and 2016. He passed away in Salzburg (July 1, 2019). He is the most internationally renowned artist to come from Nowa Huta.
The Polish Composers’ Union (ZKP) will be officially represented at the event by Prof. Wojciech Widłak, and Prof. Marcel Chyrzyński.
After the ceremony, there will be a unique opportunity to visit the Schaeffer family apartment.
