VI "Art Mintaka” Christmas Festival in Bydgoszcz and world premieres

A tradition of the “Art Mintaka” Christmas Festival is the world premieres of compositions commissioned by the Foundation for Polish Chamber Music during each concert. The latest works by Polish composers will be heard during three concerts of the 6th edition of the Festival, held from December 6-8, 2024, at the Leon Wyczółkowski Regional Museum in Bydgoszcz. Admission is free!

For the first time, we will hear Kołysanki by Joanna Wnuk-Nazarowa for soprano, clarinet, percussion, violin, and piano, Ślepi krążymy w zaułkach planety by Rafał Gorzycki for soprano, clarinets, percussion, piano, and violin, Słuchaj by Zygmunt Krauze for soprano, clarinets, violin, piano, and percussion, and Song of Blindman by Wojciech Błażejczyk for bandura and live electronics. The opening concert will also feature the world premiere of Entomofonia by Żaneta Rydzewska for bass clarinet, percussion, piano, violin, and electronics. This work was created as part of the "Composers' Commissions" program, realized by the National Institute of Music and Dance.

The interpreters of these works will be world-renowned performers of Polish contemporary music: soprano Joanna Freszel, the Kwartludium ensemble, as well as the composer and guitarist Wojciech Błażejczyk.

Flutist Ewa Liebchen and pianist Joanna Czapińska will also present for the first time a work for flute and piano by the winner of the "Scena Młodych – Students of Composition at the F.
