"Szczecin Classic" – the largest classical music festival in Western Pomerania – will take place from April 27 to May 3 titled "7 Wonders". Seven days of mastery, artistry, and unforgettable experiences await. The program will include exceptional concerts titled “Bordering on a Miracle,” “Miraculous Marvels,” “Unseen Wonders,” “Sweet as Honey,” “Miracle Workers,” “7 Wonders,” and “Beyond the Stage.” The festival will also highlight Poland’s presidency of the EU Council, welcoming artists from Germany, Malta, and Spain. Most concerts will be free of charge!
Over the past six years, the festival has attracted not only classical music enthusiasts but also young musicians from across Europe. This year, talented artists from China and the United States will join as part of the “Szczecin Classic Academy”. Around 50 young musicians will participate in the festival and academy, studying with recognized instrumentalists, including Janusz Wawrowski, Henning Kraggerud, Adam Bałdych, Emanuel Salvador, Piotr Szumieł, Konstantin Heidrich, and Janusz Widzyk, all of whom will also perform during the festival concerts.
For the first time, the festival will feature a "Composers’ Symposium" – workshops for young composers selected through a competition. The sessions will be led by Karl Fiorini (Malta), Ignacy Zalewski (Poland), and the Neuma Quartet, culminating in a special festival concert presenting the works created.
The opening concert will feature winners of the residency competition. This year, the honor goes to two ensembles: Dissonance String Quartet from Poland and Ikarus String Quartet from Germany. The program will include works by Grażyna Bacewicz and Krzysztof Penderecki. The concert will be streamed live on the organizers’ and festival’s Facebook pages.
Alongside the main concerts, Szczecin will host a variety of accompanying events that will bring even more magic to this year’s edition. Pianist Barbara Drazkov will present her street concert project "Silent Piano." “Miracle Making” (Polish: “Cudujemy”) – creative workshops for children led by Konrad Słoka – will give kids the chance to compose their own songs. On Flag Day, cyclists will ride through Szczecin and gather at a spectacular outdoor concert on Jasne Błonia, titled “Cuda na kiju"
