"The Mysterious Stranger, or Episode at the Masquerade" is a concert to which the Sudecka Philharmonic invites you on the 10th of November, 2023 at 7 p.m. It will be a unique event - dedicated to the composer Elżbieta Sikora, on the occasion of her 80th birthday.
Elżbieta Sikora is considered a pioneer of Polish electronic music. Her work, born from the spirit of avant-garde and experiment, is a kind of revision of musical tradition based on new techniques and modern technologies. The programme of Friday's concert includes her work Five Miniatures and will be performed by the Sudecka Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Wojciech Rodek.
World premiere of the Concerto for two clarinets and symphony orchestra by Paweł Łukaszewski will also take place. The virtuosos Roman Widaszek and Rafał Kleszcz will perform as soloists.
The symphonic poems Step by Zygmunt Noskowski and Episode at the masquerade by Mieczysław Karłowicz will also be performed.
