The Moniuszko Music Lovers Society invites you on the 13th of November, 2022 at 19.00 to the concert ‘Stanisław Moniuszko in memoriam’, which will take place in the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of the Polish Radio. The event, during which the premiere of Ignacy Zalewski's piece will take place, is part of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of Stanisław Moniuszko's death.
The Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw, conducted by Monika Wolińska, will perform a piece by Ignacy Zalewski, Requiem in memoriam Stanisław Moniuszko, specially composed for this occasion, using sketches by Marcin Błażewicz, a composer who unexpectedly passed away without completing the composition commissioned by the association. The soloists will be Małgorzata Trojanowska (soprano), Agnieszka Zińczuk (mezzo-soprano), Jacek Szponarski (tenor) and Leszek Lorent (drums).
We will also hear the Funeral March by Aleksander Orłowski and the Concert Polonaise in A major by Stanisław Moniuszko, Lithuanian Rhapsody by Mieczysław Karłowicz and Perły Moniuszkowskie by Zygmunt Noskowski.
Co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund as part of the ‘Music’ programme, implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
