From November 8 to 11, 2024, the Tadeusz Baird Philharmonic in Zielona Góra will host another edition of the exceptional event "Weekend with Independence," which began in 2021.
This year, the Philharmonic has prepared four diverse concerts: an inaugural concert, a String Orchestra Concert, a Song Recital, and a concert for Independence Day. It promises to be an unforgettable weekend!
The event will kick off with a concert featuring pianist Beata Bilińska. Accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of the Zielona Góra Philharmonic conducted by Tadeusz Wojciechowski, she will perform Chopin's Piano Concerto in E minor, Op. 11. Karłowicz's Symphony "Odrodzenie”, Op. 7, will also be performed.
On November 9, the recognized violinist Jakub Jakowicz will take the stage. The Zielona Góra Philharmonic, conducted by Alexander Humali, will perform Kilar's Orawa and another hit by Karłowicz – Serenade for String Orchestra, Op. 2.
On November 10, Zuzanna Nalewajek (mezzo-soprano), Szymon Komasa (baritone), and Marcin Kozieł (piano) will perform songs and romances by Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Karol Kurpiński, Stanisław Moniuszko, Mieczysław Karłowicz, Karol Szymanowski, Henryk Czyż, Tadeusz Baird, and the Philharmonic's director, Rafał Kłoczko.
The final concert will feature the largest number of musicians. The Philharmonic Choir, Thalloris Quartet, Reed Connection ensemble, and Zielona Góra Philharmonic will present works by Witold Lutosławski, Paweł Łukaszewski, Stanisław Moniuszko, Józef Świderski, as well as the Philharmonic's patron.

The event is under the Honorary Patronage of the Marshal of the Lubuskie Voivodeship.
