The concert by the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra of Polish Radio, conducted by Anna Duczmal-Mróz, titled "Broadway and Cinema", promises an extraordinary evening filled with energy, emotion, and cinematic memories. On April 26, 2026 at 6.00 pm, the Adam Mickiewicz University Auditorium in Poznań will transform into a musical bridge connecting New York’s Broadway with the silver screen. The ensemble will present the world premiere of Hanna Kulenty’s Concerto for wind quintet and string orchestra "Five run Five".
The program will feature works inspired by American musical culture, including George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, as well as music from iconic films and musicals. A special guest of the concert will be the versatile pianist and composer Aleksander Dębicz. He will be joined on stage by the Kraków Wind Quintet, one of Poland’s most esteemed chamber ensembles.
The centrepiece of the program will be the world premiere of Hanna Kulenty’s Concerto for wind quintet and string orchestra "Five run Five" , composed specifically for this occasion as part of the "Composers’ Commissions" program, implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance. The composer drew inspiration from the legendary An American in Paris.
Hanna Kulenty’s concerto for wind quintet and string orchestra Five run Five is part of the PWM Edition catalogue.
