The Łomża Chamber Philharmonic invites you on October 24, 2024, at 6:30 PM to a special concert featuring the world premiere of Folie à deux – a double concerto for flute, harpsichord, and orchestra by Maciej Zimka. The solo parts will be performed by flutist Ewelina Zawiślak and harpsichordist Ewa Rzetecka-Niewiadomska, with the Witold Lutosławski Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra of Łomża conducted by Spanish conductor Juan José Navarro.
Dr. Maciej Zimka, a lecturer at the Academy of Music in Cracow, is also an active performer and composer. Since 2011, he has been involved with the Art Forum Foundation, co-organizing many cultural projects, such as the Accordion Composition Premiere Concert, the Cracow Accordion Festival, and the Palace Literary and Music Salon. His latest work was created as part of the ZAiKS Creativity Support Fund Scholarship.
The program will also include Edward Elgar's Serenade in E minor and Victor Herbert's Serenade Op. 12 for string orchestra.
