Wrocław | The Garden of Love

pThe LutosAir Quintet and saxophonist Bartłomiej Duś will perform on 24 October 2021 at 6.00 p.m. at the National Forum of Music. The programme will include works for saxophone, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and French horn. The artists will also premiere Miłosz Wośko's Aeration Channels for wind quintet and electronics.

The concert will begin with Henri Tomasi's Printemps (Spring). Next, we will hear the graceful and unpretentious Suite of another French artist – Charles-Édouard Lefebvre, representing the Romantic Era. This will be followed by The Garden of Love – a piece by the Dutch composer Jacob ter Veldhuis (b. 1951) for soprano saxophone and tape.

Miłosz Wośko, whose new composition for wind quintet and electronics will be premiered during the concert, is a representative of the so-called third trend in jazz music: he combines elements of jazz and classical music in his works. The latest piece by this multi-talented musician "is full of ambiguity, history and emotions", as described by the composer himself.

The concert will end with Darius Milhaud's suite Scaramouche, Op. 165.

The project is part of the commemoration of the centennial of regaining independence and rebuilding Polish statehood.
