Photo Report from the Presentation of the Project “Józef Koffler – A Composer of Lwów and Europe”
For the first time, in the welcoming halls of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw, on March 29, 2025, the wider public was introduced to:
- A unique monographic website dedicated to Józef Koffler, one of the most outstanding figures in the musical life of the Second Polish Republic. The site reflects all aspects of Koffler’s activity: as a composer, educator, and publicist. Ms. Magdalena Borowiec, curator of the Archive of Polish Composers at the University of Warsaw Library, was the first in history to collect and analyze all articles authored by Józef Koffler. The beautiful website was developed by Rytm Digital.
- A world premiere performance by the internationally acclaimed Silesian String Quartet of a String Quartet composed by Koffler in 1934, previously believed to be lost and recently rediscovered by Iwona Lindstedt. The sheet music for the quartet will be published by Polish Music Publishers (PWM).
- The event was recorded by Musicon.
The project, organized by the Polish Composers’ Union, was carried out with funding from the state budget granted by the Minister of Education and Science under the program “Social Responsibility of Science II.”
The website was produced by POLMIC.
